Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA is seeking a proactive Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead discovery, qualification, and development of new suppliers and manufacturing technologies for our nuclear-grade hardware. This front-end role focuses on finding suppliers before parts exist in production, aligning engineering intent with real capabilities, and shepherding suppliers from concept through qualification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development, or new product introduction.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proven track record of identifying and qualifying new suppliers for complex components.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites (up to 20%–40%).
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and standard office software.
• Onsite work requirement: 100% at El Segundo HQ.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Discovery: identify and research new potential suppliers and manufacturing technologies.
• Design-to-Supplier Matching: interpret drawings and material requirements to match supplier capability.
• Supplier Vetting & Qualification: conduct capability assessments and risk screening.
• Onboarding: manage end-to-end supplier onboarding from first contact to NDA and qualification.
• R&D & New Technology Sourcing: evaluate emerging technologies for sourcing paths.
• New Part Introduction (NPI) Support: coordinate PO issuance, first articles, prototypes, and pilot runs.
• Supplier PM through Production: manage PO issuance, schedule, and on-time delivery.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: work with SDEs, Engineering, QA, Procurement, and Operations.
• Market Intelligence: monitor supply market trends and geopolitical risk affecting suppliers.
• Process Improvement: refine discovery, vetting, and onboarding processes.
• Purchase Order Support: assist with PO health and status.
• Supplier RCCA Support: assist with root cause corrective actions with suppliers.
