Job summary

SpaceXAI is seeking a Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer to lead firmware and hardware failure analysis, manage RMAs, and support data center operations. You will proactively identify fault causes, work with vendors, and ensure robust hardware reliability in a fast‑moving startup environment.

Responsibilities include diagnosing grey failures, developing monitoring tools, and documenting root causes for knowledge sharing. Memphis data center involvement and on‑call rotations are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years hardware reliability engineering in high‑performance computing or data centers.
• Proven firmware analysis, hardware specs review, and release validation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze firmware packages and hardware specs for compatibility, performance and reliability in the data center.
• Investigate and diagnose hardware failures, including grey/intermittent issues, with rigorous testing and data analysis.
• Manage vendor relationships and initiates RMAs to hold vendors accountable for resolutions.
• Collaborate with Data Center Operations Technicians to troubleshoot and repair hardware in real time.
• Develop monitoring tools and scripts to detect hardware anomalies and minimize downtime.
• Document failure modes, RCAs, AFR models and RMA outcomes in a team knowledge base.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for hardware issues in the Memphis data center.
