Candidates should have 2+ years in hardware reliability, scripting in Python/Bash, and experience with servers, GPUs, and networking gear.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 2+ years hardware reliability engineering in HPC or data centers.
• Expertise in firmware analysis and release validation.
• Strong RMA experience with vendor negotiations.
• Ability to diagnose grey/intermittent hardware failures.
• Familiarity with servers, GPUs, networking gear.
• Scripting in Python/Bash; knowledge of C/C++, Java, or Rust.
• Analytical, data-driven, cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze firmware packages and hardware specs for compatibility, performance, and reliability.
• Investigate and prove hardware failures, including grey failures, via testing and data analysis.
• Manage vendor relationships and RMA processes, including negotiations.
• Collaborate with Data Center Operations Technicians to troubleshoot and optimize hardware systems.
• Develop monitoring tools and automation to detect hardware anomalies early.
• Document failure modes, RCAs, AFR models, and RMA outcomes.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response for hardware issues in Memphis.
