Job summary

SpaceXAI in Memphis seeks a Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer to own firmware analysis, hardware specs review, vendor relations, and failure analysis for our data-center hardware.

You will diagnose grey failures, manage RMAs, collaborate with operations technicians, and build monitoring tools to detect anomalies early. Familiarity with servers, GPUs, networking gear and scripting in Python or Bash is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years hardware reliability in HPC or data centers.
• Experience in firmware analysis and release validation.
• Familiar with RMA processes and vendor negotiations.
• Ability to diagnose complex hardware failures with testing.
• Familiar with data center hardware like servers and GPUs.
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting; knowledge of C/C++/Java/Rust.
• Strong problem-solving with a data-driven reliability focus.
• Collaborative across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze firmware and hardware specs for compatibility, performance, and reliability.
• Run security scans and CVE analysis on firmware components.
• Investigate grey/intermittent hardware failures with testing.
• Manage vendor relationships and file RMAs.
• Collaborate with Data Center Operations Technicians to troubleshoot hardware.
• Develop monitoring tools and scripts to detect anomalies early.
• Document failure modes, RCAs, AFR models, and RMA outcomes in KM.
