Job summary

Wasabi Technologies is seeking a Hardware Operations Engineer to support and maintain our growing fleet of nearly 9,000 servers. This hands-on, hybrid role focuses on keeping our 24x7x365 production environment running smoothly, troubleshooting hardware, and building automation.

You will collaborate with Hardware Operations, DevOps, and other teams, evaluate new hardware, run diagnostics, and improve reliability as Wasabi grows. Strong Linux and Python scripting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience troubleshooting server, storage, or network hardware in a large-scale data center.
• Strong Linux knowledge and ability to write Python scripts for automation.
• Proven communication skills and ability to work across teams.
• Comfortable in fast-paced startup environments with shifting priorities.
• Team-first attitude and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware issues in a live production data center.
• Write Python scripts to automate fixes, run diagnostics at scale, and speed up ticket resolution.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (DevOps, supply chain, vendors) to keep spares stocked and hardware operations running smoothly.
• Help build dashboards and reporting tools to track hardware health and team workflow.
• Be available for on-call/off-hours support and travel to data center sites.
