Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Product Development Engineer – Hardware, Locks, and Mechanisms (HLM) in Dearborn, MI. Hybrid work setup; you will design, develop, validate, release, and implement handles, locks, and mechanisms for vehicle closures across the product life cycle.

Responsibilities include leading suppliers, delivering on-time plans within GPDS, and ensuring robust system interfaces at the vehicle level. CAD and DFMEA familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of engineering experience in design, development, or launch of automotive mechanisms.
• Experience with automotive latching systems such as side doors, tailgates, and closures.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead HLM suppliers to meet cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing goals.
• Understand GPDS and create plans to deliver on time.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate system interfaces at vehicle level.
