Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn is seeking a design and release engineer for HLM Handles. You will lead suppliers, drive design improvements, and ensure CAD/Teamcenter data integrity across the vehicle closure system.

Responsibilities include validating interfaces, performing analyses, and guiding system core documents while traveling to supplier sites and NA plants as needed. A strong CAD/CAЕ background and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in design, development, or launch of automotive mechanisms.
• Strong knowledge of plastics, molding processes and related CAEs.
• CAD capable (CATIA, 3DX, Teamcenter) and familiarity with CAE tools.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead HLM suppliers to meet program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
• Understand GPDS and create plans to deliver on time.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver a robust system at vehicle level, validating system interfaces of the Handles Mechs.
• Create and present technical presentations for peer and management reviews.
• Review CAD in Teamcenter and sign-off parts.
• Lead design reviews based on Failure Mode Avoidance.
• Travel to supplier manufacturing and testing sites when required.
