Job summary

Epitec seeks a Technician II in San Diego for a 12-month, W2 contract to set up and manage a large-scale hardware rack testing environment for firmware projects. You will provide in-lab support and collaborate with firmware, software, and test automation teams to optimize configurations and troubleshoot issues.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware management and scripting in Python, Bash, and Ansible to automate tasks, along with strong communication and meticulous documentation of lab activity.

Qualifications

• 2 years of building and managing lab with devices.
• Technical support experience or equivalent working knowledge in computer hardware and networking.
• Experience in managing MacOS and iOS devices.
• Experience in automating device management using Python, bash and Ansible.
• Strong in diagnosing and resolving system and user-level issues in MacOS, iOS or Linux.
• A team-player in nature with good communications and documentations skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and manage a large-scale hardware rack testing environment for firmware projects.
• Provide physical in-lab support to enable automated system testing on the racks.
• Collaborate with firmware and software engineering teams to configure test hardware.
• Work with the test automation team to troubleshoot lab issues and improve lab automations.
