Job summary

EPAM Systems seeks an Automation Operations Engineer to deploy, maintain, and run hardware test fixtures in Cupertino. You will work with engineers to bring up test infrastructure, run experiments on daily builds, and perform root-cause analysis when automation or hardware setups fail.

You will analyze test data, create reports and dashboards, and maintain comprehensive documentation. The role involves lab management and timely prototype logistics to accelerate hardware testing at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with Python-based test automation and scripting.
• Experience deploying automated fixtures and hardware test setups.
• Experience with infrastructure/configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
• Shell scripting, networking, and macOS experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, deploy, and maintain test devices and fixtures for automation testing; configure DUT.
• Build, modify, and handle prototype hardware with proper safety protocols.
• Maintain test infrastructure; manage agent staging, updates, and smoke tests.
• Run experiments, monitor daily builds, and ensure test success.
• Perform failure analysis, debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Analyze test data; create reports, dashboards, and status updates.
• Document assembly/disassembly procedures and agent update guides.
• Keep lab space clean, organized, and well-managed.
• Handle prototype device pickup/deployment within 48 hours; transport between facilities.
• Identify process improvements to reduce fixture downtime.
