Job summary

Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. is seeking a Hardware Installation Technician to assemble metal parts, attach sub-assemblies, and install fasteners. You will analyze orders and blueprints to determine materials and sequencing, then fasten components and install hardware and electrical parts.

Proficiency with drilling and riveting equipment is required. The role requires attention to detail, good communication with engineers and production staff, and the ability to maintain quality while

Qualifications

• Record of high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Experience preferred: 6–12 months in hardware installation or assembly.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow process sequences.

Responsibilities

• Assemble metal parts and attach sub-assemblies using fasteners.
• Inspect finished work against blueprints and specs with measuring tools.
• Operate drill presses and riveting machines to assist assembly.
• Coordinate with engineers and production to resolve issues.
• Perform small repairs and clean tools between uses.
• Submit change requests to keep production times competitive.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and quality standards.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, rivets or fasteners.
• Install hardware such as fasteners, terminals and electrical components.
• Operate riveting machines, or other installation equipment to assist in assembly operation.
• Make minor repairs and clean tools between use.
• Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications and blueprints by use of appropriate measuring devices.
• Communicate and confer with engineers, production personnel, supervisors or others to resolve problems that may arise.
• Submit change requests as necessary to help keep production times competitive.
• Other job duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Education And/or Experience

• Record of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Preferred: Six months to one year related experience and/or training.
