Job summary

AprilAire is seeking an Engineering Manager - Hardware to lead the internal hardware engineering team at the Sun Prairie Innovation Center. You will oversee cross-group coordination, develop processes, track KPIs, and mentor engineers while providing technical and project oversight.

The role requires overseeing hardware development, enabling efficient sprint execution, and ensuring design reviews and lifecycle support throughout product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years hardware engineering experience.
• 1–3 years project management or people leadership experience.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication with stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Experience in hardware reliability analysis, FMEA required.
• Experience designing products for manufacture and PCB layout.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to scope and schedule for hardware development and testing portions of projects.
• Plan and oversee sprint execution within the hardware team with stakeholders and PMs.
• Triage hardware issues and assign to engineers.
• Define and manage hardware, simulation, test, and validation requirements for new products.
• Collaborate on circuit design, schematics, layout, analysis, and documentation.
• Own hardware architecture requirements and design specification documents.
• Develop complete PCB designs, including schematics and layouts.
