Job summary

Arista Networks is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to lead multiple cross-functional teams in the design and verification of networking Ethernet switches. You will provide technical guidance to hardware engineers and drive complex HW bring-up and system debug.

The role is primarily onsite at our Santa Clara HQ with limited remote work. A proven track record in managing hardware teams and delivering production-ready high-density, high-bandwidth switches is essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in networking hardware design.
• Proven experience leading hardware engineering teams across multiple simultaneous projects.
• Strong communication skills and experience guiding direct reports, interfacing with executive leadership.
• Experience with embedded x86/ARM system design, gigabit+ signaling, high-speed buses, and regulatory compliance.
• Background experience with DFMs and collaboration with CM, ODM and JDM.
• Experience translating high-level product direction into actionable steps.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and directions to hardware engineers to resolve complex HW bring-up and cross functional problems.
• HW schematic entry, Layout supervision, board bring-up, and cross functional system debug.
• Work with product management teams to translate high-level product direction into future system designs with detailed steps.
• Drive Vendor roadmaps of key components to advance Arista’s HW designs and align with product roadmaps.
• Communicate project status and changes to mitigate unexpected issues.
• Participate in schematic and board design reviews.
• Assist in analyzing Signal Integrity and Power Integrity simulation and measurement results.
• Develop and convey priorities across a portfolio of projects.
• Drive design of high-quality products with high first-pass yields at manufacturing.
• Ensure prototype manufacturing infrastructure and capacity meet needs.
• Act as initial contact for customer escalations and supervise resolution.
• Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of hardware engineers.
• Identify, define, and implement new processes and tools to improve productivity.
