Nbutexas in San Francisco is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a hardware team and drive rugged consumer electronics from prototype to mass production. This hands-on leadership role demands deep EE/systems architecture experience and the ability to own architecture decisions with a pragmatic, production-focused mindset.

You will lead a small ME + EE + Firmware group, collaborate with Asian ODM/JDM/CM manufacturers, and travel 2–4x per year to ensure design intent and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Strong EE / systems architecture background.
• Experience with consumer electronics / wearables / rugged electronics.
• Experience taking products from development to high-volume manufacturing.
• Direct manufacturing liaison with Asian ODM/JDM/CM suppliers.
• Ability to lead a small ME + EE + Firmware team while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Own design decisions and product feasibility end-to-end.

We are working on a Hardware Engineering Manager search in San Francisco for a growing consumer electronics company building rugged, high-performance products.

This is not a “manage from a distance” role.

The sweet spot? A Principal/Lead Engineer ready for leadership, or a hands-on Engineering Manager who still wants to prototype, troubleshoot, make architecture decisions, and take products all the way to mass production.
