Nbutexas in San Francisco is seeking a Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a hardware team and drive rugged consumer electronics from prototype to mass production. This hands-on leadership role demands deep EE/systems architecture experience and the ability to own architecture decisions with a pragmatic, production-focused mindset.

You will lead a small ME + EE + Firmware group, collaborate with Asian ODM/JDM/CM manufacturers, and travel 2–4x per year to ensure design intent and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Strong EE / systems architecture background.
• Experience with consumer electronics / wearables / rugged electronics.
• Experience taking products from development to high-volume manufacturing.
• Direct manufacturing liaison with Asian ODM/JDM/CM suppliers.
• Ability to lead a small ME + EE + Firmware team while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small ME + EE + Firmware team.
• Prototype, troubleshoot, and make architecture decisions.
• Drive products from development to mass production.
• Own design decisions and product feasibility end-to-end.
• Coordinate with Asian ODM/JDM/CM manufacturers.
• Travel to Taiwan 2–4x per year.
