Job summary

Pratum Co, based in Gaithersburg, MD, seeks a Compliance Account Manager to own HAP posting, reconciliation and ledger corrections for HUD-subsidized properties across eight states. The role serves as the bridge among Compliance, Property Accounting, regional management and site teams.

The position may offer a hybrid arrangement depending on business needs. Requires 3+ years in affordable housing accounting with HUD HAP experience, strong Excel skills and familiarity with Yardi/RealPage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of affordable housing accounting and HUD HAP experience across multiple states.
• Proven ability to reconcile subsidy receivables to vouchers, deposits and the general ledger.
• Proven ability to independently manage high-volume monthly deadlines for a large portfolio with multiple Contract Administrators and PHAs

Responsibilities

• Post all monthly HAP payments to property ledgers and resident ledgers in the PM system.
• Perform monthly HAP reconciliations comparing voucher amounts, approvals, deposits and ledgers.
• Reconcile HAP deposits to bank statements and the general ledger subsidy receivable account.
• Research and resolve variances from short pays, overpayments, voucher rejections and offsets.
• Track retroactive adjustments and pending certifications month to month until paid.
• Maintain a HAP variance log with cause, corrective action and resolution date.
• Prepare reconciliation workpapers with supporting documents for month-end close, audits and MORs.
• Complete reconciliations by the 10th day of each month.
• Research and correct ledger discrepancies due to late certifications or posting errors
