Job summary

Invitation Homes in Phoenix seeks a detail-oriented HAP Accountant to deliver accurate housing authority accounting data and perform monthly audits for program compliance. This role supports timely financial information for shareholders and field partners.

You will extract HUD payment data from portals, create Yardi receipt batches, and verify charges against leases while coordinating with Property Management and HUD authorities to resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or Economics required or preferred
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge of HUD policies and regulations
• Knowledge and use of Yardi property management software preferred
• Intermediate Excel for reporting

Responsibilities

• Provide the financial data on the RTA packets for a prospective Resident
• Access Housing Authority portals to extract payment information
• Create receipt batches in Yardi to apply HAP payments
• Research HAP and Resident AR balances on the Resident ledger to determine accuracy of the payment application
• Communicate with Property Management field personnel and HAP Authorities to resolve discrepancies and share HAP correspondence
• Review HAP contracts and the Resident’s lease to verify charges
