Columbia University Facilities & Operations is seeking a Handyperson to perform minor building and grounds repairs and preventive maintenance for several medium-sized apartment buildings. The role requires basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and plastering tasks, with responsibility for inspecting equipment and ensuring safe, functional facilities.

The position supports maintenance operations on a regular schedule, with a standard 40-hour work week, and may involve supervision

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of related experience required.
• Some heavy lifting may be required.

Responsabilidades

• Performs preventive maintenance to ensure proper working conditions.
• Removes snow and spreads salt as needed.
• In the absence of a building superintendent, may assist with the supervision of building employees and arrange work schedules.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
