Job summary

Columbia University Facilities and Operations seeks a Manager of Facilities, Undergrad Residential Brownstones in New York. This role reports to the Director and leads day-to-day operation of Brownstones and off-campus buildings to provide a safe, comfortable living environment for undergraduate residents.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, including 4 years supervisory, with strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and other systems, plus experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related experience.
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience of union/non-union staff.
• Strong understanding of facility systems (HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Lighting).
• Computer literacy and experience with spreadsheets required.
• Excellent oral and written communication; OSHA guidelines knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Brownstones and other non-Res Halls and off-campus buildings.
• Coordinate with building Supers on maintenance and repair activities and inspections.
• Collaborate with Housing to notify students about maintenance work.
• Oversee trade contractors, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Directly manage Maximo CMMS, documenting and completing work orders.
• Maintain safety, compliance, and a culture of continuous improvement within facilities.
