RE Partners is seeking an experienced Software Reliability Engineer in New York, NY to lead CI/CD, testing, and automated deployments. You will drive safe, rapid releases, containerization, and dependency upgrades while applying AI-assisted coding practices.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience with TDD across multiple frameworks.
• Ability to choose automation testing approaches and drive outcomes with AI support.
• Proficiency in JVM languages and/or TypeScript.
• Excellent coding skills and safe practices for critical systems.
• Experience with multiple CI/CD systems and Docker/OpenShift.
• Strong security coding practices and Linux competence.
• Hands-on engineering mindset with cross-team impact.

Responsibilities

• Conduct targeted engagements with development teams to improve release cadence.
• Wrap applications in tests and run smoke tests during deployment.
• Integrate test data and apply data masking in lower environments.
• Upgrade runtimes and dependencies to current major versions.
• Containerize applications where feasible.
• Upgrade libraries and implement seamless updates across dependencies.
• Introduce best-practice source control and code review processes.
• Ensure security patterns, secrets management, auth and authorization.
• Automate deployment processes including database changes with Liquibase and Ansible.
• Introduce standard observability patterns and improve logging.
• Overhaul exception handling and logging for reliability.
