Job summary

CSafe is seeking an Associate Director of Software Engineering to lead and grow our software engineering team at the Monroe, Ohio headquarters. This hands-on leader will write and review production code part-time while directing engineering strategy, architecture, and delivery across platforms.

You will collaborate with Product, IT, and business stakeholders to convert priorities into working software and raise the engineering bar through best practices, code reviews, and secure design patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/SE/IS or related field.
• 3+ years leading engineers, including performance reviews, hiring, and coaching.
• Experience delivering and operating production software at scale in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of software engineers, owning hiring and career growth.
• Own technical direction and architecture for assigned platforms, including API design and security.
• Drive delivery by planning initiatives, removing blockers, and ensuring scope, quality, and dates.
• Enforce engineering standards through reviews, CI/CD, testing, and documentation.
• Champion AI-assisted development with patterns that improve throughput while maintaining quality.
• Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to translate requirements into designs and communicate tradeoffs.
• Support transitions from external partners to internal teams, ensuring readiness and knowledge transfer.
• Own production health including monitoring, incident response, and root cause analysis.
