Job summary

Advanced Electronic Design Inc. is seeking a hands-on engineer to participate in the complete development of rugged computer systems, from concept to field deployment.

The role spans mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software engineering, with regular hands-on work in the lab and collaboration with suppliers and customers. You will work on prototypes, mechanical enclosures, PCB design, embedded firmware, BIOS integration, and manufacturing support, with opportunities to influence product

Qualifications

• Strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and willingness to learn across disciplines.
• Candidates with electrical/computer/electrical/mechanical engineering backgrounds are welcome.
• Experience in C, C++, Python or other software development is desired.

Responsibilities

• Design rugged computers, tablets, docking stations, and related electronic systems.
• Participate in projects from initial concept through production.
• Develop mechanical components, enclosures, thermal solutions, and mounting systems.
• Design, review, prototype, and troubleshoot printed circuit boards.
• Develop or modify embedded firmware for microcontrollers and system controllers.
• Assist with BIOS, EC, driver, and operating-system integration.
• Develop test utilities, manufacturing tools, and supporting software.
• Build and evaluate prototypes in the lab.
• Diagnose hardware, firmware, software, thermal, and system-level problems.
• Work with suppliers, manufacturers, customers, and other engineers.
• Support regulatory, environmental, reliability, and production testing.
• Document designs and help transition products into manufacturing.
