Job summary

Rune Technologies in Arlington, VA seeks a hands-on Electromechanical Engineer to turn concepts into rugged hardware for demanding environments. You will design, build, test, and manufacture enclosures, assemblies, and systems that operate reliably in challenging field conditions.

You will own hardware from concept through production, collaborating with suppliers and applying DFM/DFA, tolerancing, and manufacturing documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Experience designing, building, and testing electromechanical products.
• Strong mechanical design fundamentals with hands-on prototyping.
• Experience integrating sensors, electronics, power, wiring, and connectors.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, drawings, tolerancing and manufacturing docs.
• DFM/DFA-driven development from prototype to production.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Drive physical design, electromechanical integration, prototyping, DFM/DFA, testing, and manufacturing maturation.
• Take ownership of hardware through the full development lifecycle.
• Design enclosures, mounts, assemblies, packaging, wiring, and mechanical integration.
• Integrate sensors, electronics, power systems, connectors, antennas, and other components.
• Design hardware for demanding operational environments.
• Partner with suppliers, fabrication shops, and contract manufacturers to transition to production.
