Job summary

Black Diamond Advanced Technology (BDATech) seeks a motivated Mechanical Engineer to design rugged electronic systems for military applications in Chandler, AZ. This full-time role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, collaboration with electrical and manufacturing teams, and translating requirements into durable, manufacturable solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical design expertise, experience with CAD tools, and a passion for ruggedized products in extreme environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
3–7 years of relevant industry experience.
Proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
Experience designing for harsh environments including MIL-STD testing preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical components, enclosures, and assemblies for ruggedized electronic systems.
Conduct 3D modeling, simulation, and detailed mechanical analysis using CAD tools.
Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, test reports, and design validations.
Perform tolerance, thermal, and structural analyses for mission-critical products.
Plan, build, and test prototypes to verify mechanical performance and environmental resilience.
Collaborate with electrical and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration.
Support continuous improvement in design processes, manufacturability and quality.
Assist with supplier engagement, material selection and production troubleshooting.
