Job summary

RTX is seeking an RF Design Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in the USA to contribute to design, simulation, product development and initial testing of RF hardware across radar and datalink programs.

The role supports the Effector RF Design Department with collaboration across disciplines, lab work, and schematic capture. Applicants should be enrolled in STEM and have relevant coursework in RF theory and MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session
• Experience and/or coursework in programming and/or simulation experience in MATLAB, SIMULINK, C/C++, or equivalent language.
• Experience and/or coursework with one or more of the following: Communication theory, Digital signal processing, Probability theory, Stochastic signal processing, and/or RF and electromagnetic theory

Responsibilities

• Supporting design and development of transmitters, receivers or exciters.
• Experience designing and optimizing RF circuits - either chains of components (receiver, exciter, etc.) or individual parts (filters, limiters, couplers, etc.)
• Working in a lab to accomplish component characterization as well as module verification and integration.
• Working with interdisciplinary teams - power, digital, mechanical, etc.
• Schematic capture and detailed design.
