Job summary
RTX’s Antenna Design Engineer Intern in Summer 2027 will join the Effector RF Design team to develop antenna hardware, run simulations, and collaborate with cross-functional engineers. You will contribute to RF product development and gain hands-on experience with industry tools and processes.
The role requires pursuing a Mechanical Engineering or related STEM degree, a minimum of 60 credit hours, and proficiency in HFSS/CST/FEKO/SENTRi/GRASP, with exposure to electromagnetic theory.
Qualifications
- Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM major and enrolled through the internship period.
- Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by start of the internship.
- Proficiency with modeling & simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and/or GRASP.
- Experience or coursework in communication theory, microwave theory, and electromagnetic/wave theory.
Responsibilities
- Development of antenna or radome hardware and requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, and systems.
- Work with antenna manufacturing suppliers.
- Perform antenna modeling and simulation on workstations and HPC resources.
- Analyze simulation or measurement data to verify performance against requirements.
