Job summary

Chaney Enterprises in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Equipment Operator — Ready Mix to safely operate yard equipment and concrete plant machinery, support material receiving, storage, and production loading, and perform routine maintenance.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires outdoor work, accurate inventory monitoring, quality checks, and close coordination with the Concrete Plant Manager and Dispatch to maintain uninterrupted production.

Qualifications

• Verbal communication with management, dispatch and drivers.
• Basic computer skills to learn dispatch system and apps.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections accurately.
• Willingness to follow environmental and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Inspect plant and equipment regularly to ensure readiness and cleanliness.
• Monitor aggregate and admixture inventory; notify of shortages.
• Operate front-end loaders and yard vehicles safely per procedures.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and document findings.
• Collect material samples and perform quality control tests.
• Maintain plant and yard cleanliness and organization.
• Comply with environmental regulations and address hazards.
• Assist Plant Manager with batching operations and production support.
• Support Dispatch with driver communications and operational data.
• Learn and use dispatch system and company software platforms.
• Perform general outside labor and site tasks as assigned.
