Job summary

Chaney Enterprises in Roanoke, VA is seeking an Equipment Operator — Retail to safely receive, store, and stage raw materials for concrete production. You will operate front-end loaders and forklifts, load deliveries, and assist customers in the yard, coordinating with dispatch to maintain material flow.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, basic preventive maintenance, site cleanliness, environmental compliance, and supporting batching and yard operations while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts/front-end loaders in industrial settings.
• Ability to perform routine equipment maintenance tasks.
• Strong verbal communication with operations management and customers.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to complete pre-trip and post-trip inspection reports accurately.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, and organize raw materials for production readiness.
• Operate front-end loaders, forklifts and related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load/unload deliveries and assist customers with materials in the yard.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and report findings.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and identify issues for escalation.
• Keep the plant site clean, organized, and compliant with practices.
• Support batching operations and coordinate with dispatch for scheduling.
• Monitor yard inventory and communicate shortages or discrepancies promptly.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE correctly at all times.
• Perform general outdoor labor as required (sweeping, shoveling, etc.).
