Job summary

Monroechamber is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager/Inspector to oversee quality operations in a small, growing manufacturing environment in Spring Grove, IL. The role focuses on ensuring products meet print specifications, maintaining ISO 9000 compliance, and leading a quality team on the shop floor.

Ideal candidates will have prior quality management or inspection experience in manufacturing, with plastics background preferred and strong record-keeping and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Previous quality inspection or quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Plastics manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of ISO 9000 quality systems.
• Experience with quality documentation and record compliance.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn company systems.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor rather than sitting behind a desk.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day quality activities on the manufacturing floor.
• Verify products are manufactured using the correct materials and to print specifications.
• Perform inspections and ensure quality requirements are consistently met.
• Maintain quality records and documentation.
• Support and maintain compliance with ISO 9000 quality systems.
• Identify quality issues and work with production to determine solutions.
• Oversee and support a quality team of 2+ employees.
• Communicate quality concerns and updates to management.
• Work closely with production employees to ensure procedures are understood and followed.
• Monitor processes and verify that required documentation and records are completed accurately.
• Promote attention to detail and continuous improvement throughout the shop.
