Surge Staffing is seeking a hands-on Production Lead to oversee daily production activities on the shop floor. You will work alongside the team, manage equipment, and drive safety, quality, and productivity goals.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and comfort with Excel and production data systems to track metrics and improve processes. A strong attendance record and proactive leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing or production experience.
• Experience leading, training, or supervising employees on a production floor.
• Comfortable working around moving machinery and performing basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
• Operate equipment as needed for the shift and support machine setups/changeovers.
• Coordinate staffing and workflow to keep production running efficiently.
• Provide direction, training, and support to production operators.
• Set expectations, monitor performance, and communicate daily priorities.
• Perform machine setups, changeovers, basic troubleshooting, and daily equipment checks.
• Assist with maintenance and keep production areas clean and organized.
• Use Excel to track production, downtime, scrap, and other metrics.
• Maintain accurate work orders and inventory information in internal systems.
• Identify production or quality issues and communicate them to management.
• Help troubleshoot problems and implement process improvements.
• Reinforce safety procedures and standard work.
