Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking an On-the-Job Trainer to lead training for hourly team members on essential production skills, safety practices, and job-specific techniques such as knife handling and sharpening on the production floor.

You will coach, demonstrate, and document progress while partnering with plant supervision and the Training Supervisor to ensure consistent performance. You may rotate shifts and travel to other facilities as needed to support start-up projects and to assist

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years’ relevant experience required.
• In lieu of HS diploma, 6 years Smithfield manufacturing industry exp.
• Bilingual ability is a plus for connecting with a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Train new-hire and job-bid employees on essential job skills and safety, including knife handling/sharpening.
• Spend time on the production floor, providing real-time coaching and retraining when needed.
• Document training attendance, daily observations, and progress with accuracy.
• Collaborate with area supervisors, participate in meetings, and support onboarding with PPE training.
• Rotate shifts and travel to other facilities to assist start-up projects.
