Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• In lieu of diploma, 6 years of Smithfield manufacturing experience acceptable.
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently to guide and support others.
• Bilingual ability is a plus for connecting with a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Employee Training & Skill Development: train new-hire and job-bid employees on essential job skills, safety practices, and job-specific techniques, including knife handling and sharpening.
• Documentation, Reporting & Compliance: document training attendance, daily observations, and employee progress with accuracy and detail; prepare progress reports and support reviews.
• Communication & Collaboration: collaborate with area supervisors to communicate training needs and performance concerns; participate in meetings and plan priorities.
• Flexibility, Support & Special Assignments: rotate to different shifts as needed; travel to other facilities to assist with start-up projects.
