Smithfield Foods is seeking an On-the-Job Trainer to empower new hires with essential skills and safety practices on the production floor. You will train and coach hourly team members, ensuring high standards in knife handling, sharpening, and tools maintenance while promoting safe, efficient work.

You will document progress, support job-bid transitions, and collaborate with supervisors to ensure continuous improvement and employee retention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred or six years with Smithfield.
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication is required.
• Bilingual ability is a plus for a diverse workforce.
• Strong training and coaching capabilities on the production floor.

Responsabilités

• Train new hires and job-bid employees on essential skills on the floor.
• Document training attendance, observations, and progress with accuracy.
• Collaborate with area supervisors to identify training needs.
• Support onboarding and plant tours; lead PPE training and safety.
