Job summary

Wanco Inc. seeks a hands‑on Production Engineer to join our Aurora team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early‑career engineer eager to build hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

You will work closely with operations to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve quality. This shop‑floor focused position emphasizes solving real manufacturing challenges and driving continuous improvement across production lines, cell layouts, and process flows.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years in production/manufacturing engineering, including electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with root cause analysis and lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience developing work instructions, one‑point lessons, and visual controls.

Responsibilities

• Identify production bottlenecks impacting cycle time, efficiency, and output.
• Collaborate with design engineering to implement DFA improvements.
• Lead lean manufacturing initiatives including 5S and waste reduction projects.
• Develop and optimize line balance, cell layouts, and process flows.
• Create and sustain work instructions, visual controls, and standardized processes.
• Document production processes and maintain manufacturing requirements.
• Update drawings, specifications, and engineering change requests.
• Participate in design reviews using shop floor learnings.
• Manage timelines and costs for improvement initiatives.
