Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking a PLC Applications Engineer to advance water and wastewater automation across the US. You will design, program, integrate, and commission PLC/SCADA projects, supporting startup, testing, and operator training.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of PLC programming experience across major platforms and a willingness to travel to customer sites. This role emphasizes hands-on technical impact within a growth-focused automation division.

Qualifications

2+ years of hands-on PLC programming experience.
Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider/Modicon, Siemens and/or Emerson platforms.
SCADA/HMI development or integration experience.
Experience with system startup, commissioning, FAT and/or SAT.
Understanding of industrial communication networks and protocols.
Willingness to travel to customer/project sites when required.
Water/wastewater automation experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Developing and programming PLC control applications.
Developing and integrating SCADA/HMI systems.
Producing control narratives and project documentation.
Integrating PLCs and third-party equipment through industrial communication protocols.
Supporting FAT and SAT activities.
Traveling to customer sites for startup, testing and commissioning.
Troubleshooting PLC/SCADA systems remotely and on-site.
Demonstrating completed systems and training operators/customers.
Managing automation projects from requirements through commissioning and handover.
