Job summary

Creations Foods in Ferndale, Washington seeks a Director of Operations to lead the plant operating system for Production, Maintenance, Warehouse & Logistics, and Purchasing. This hands-on role requires coaching managers on the floor and owning outcomes across shifts and departments to meet customer commitments.

You will build standardized operating systems, drive KPI cadence, and partner with Quality, R&D, and Finance while managing budgets and a multi-site consolidation roadmap.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in progressive food manufacturing roles.
• 5+ years leading managers across multiple plant functions.
• Experience building operating systems, KPI scorecards, and accountability routines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Food Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse Managers with clear expectations, scorecards, and follow-up.
• Establish a disciplined operating cadence with KPI reviews and visual management.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, training controls, and shift handoffs to reduce tribal knowledge.
• Oversee production planning, scheduling, S&OP, and on-time, in-full performance.
• Improve throughput, changeovers, sanitation, and startup while preserving food safety.
• Drive continuous improvement using root-cause analysis, OEE, yield, and waste data.
• Oversee preventive/predictive maintenance and a multi-year capital roadmap.
• Own Purchasing end-to-end with supplier scorecards, pricing terms, and lead times.
• Embed SQF, FDA cGMPs, FSMA controls, and allergen/traceability in daily operations.
