Job summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant at Mercy Hospital supports the physical therapy team by assisting with prescribed procedures and documenting patient progress in the chart. You will adapt treatment plans within the supervising PT's guidance and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout care.

You will address age-specific needs, collaborate with the therapy team, and follow the department's pain management policy to optimize outcomes and maintain dignity and respect for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Current license to perform as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in providing physical therapy.
• Document patient progress notes.
• Modify a treatment procedure within the PT plan as patient status changes.
• Safely deliver PT procedures and address age-specific patient needs.
• Coordinate workload with the Physical Therapy aide and team.
