Job summary

Suzano is seeking an Assistant Area Manager for the Paper Machine to lead operations, ensure safety, and drive reliability on the production floor.

You will work with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering, coordinating planning, outages, and SAP-based material management while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a Paper Machine environment with leadership experience.
• Understanding of the overall paper manufacturing process.
• Knowledge of Paper Machine operations including dry end and winding.
• Ability to work effectively on the production floor with employees at all levels.
• Strong organizational and planning skills for maintenance and outages.
• Strong computer skills and experience with SAP.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational support for the Paper Machine area.
• Maintain a strong production floor presence and build relationships with operators and maintenance.
• Lead and support employees while promoting safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Support troubleshooting and identify opportunities to improve reliability and production performance.
• Monitor machine availability, uptime, downtime, and other performance metrics.
• Assist with outage planning, scheduling, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate Lockout/Tagout requirements for Paper Machine work.
• Coordinate SAP-based material management and planning.
• Support workforce planning, scheduling, and daily activity coordination.
• Identify issues and coordinate with technical resources.
• Contribute to safety, quality, reliability, productivity, and cost improvements.
