Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Overhead Door Technician to install, repair, and maintain commercial doors and related hardware. This hands-on role covers reading schematics, welding, fabrication, and on-site problem solving across various sites.

You will log work, diagnose issues, perform installations to spec, and participate in on-call rotations. Competitive hourly pay with a clear path for pay progression and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Experience on construction sites with a focus on door installation or mechanical installation.
• Hands-on knowledge of glass installation, welding, and use of hand/power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics and apply mechanical knowledge to overhead door systems.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair overhead doors — garage, sectional, rolling steel, and related hardware using hand and power tools.
• Perform glass installation for door panels or windows as needed.
• Conduct welding and fabrication to modify or reinforce door components to spec.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to assemble and install systems.
• Apply construction skills — metal stud framing, carpentry, and locksmithing — to support installation projects.
• Apply caulking, sealants, and weatherproofing for insulation and durability.
• Perform electrical work related to fixture installation or door system components.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including installation logs and schematic diagrams.
