Job summary

Steel Dynamics is seeking a Mechanical Testing Lab Technician to perform mechanical tests, prepare samples, verify equipment, and follow health, safety, and environmental requirements.

You will report to lab leads, maintain cleanliness, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with repairs. Strong safety, communication, and mechanical aptitude are essential, with overtime possibly required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks according to health, safety, and environmental requirements.

• Collect and prepare samples for testing.
• Perform and evaluate mechanical tests according to standard procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all testing lab equipment.
• Report issues to the Mechanical Testing Lab Lead Technician or Supervisor.
• Work with others to repair Mechanical Testing Lab equipment.
• Maintain a high level of lab cleanliness.
