Job summary

Cushing Terrell in Billings, MT is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join the in-person ME team on real client projects. You'll gain hands-on experience performing engineering calculations and designing mechanical systems, including heating and cooling load calculations.

You will model systems in Revit and AutoCAD, schedule equipment, and compile project specifications while learning building codes such as IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE through site visits and collaboration across the firm.

Qualifications

• Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering undergraduate program.
• Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt.
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering calculations and mechanical system design, including heating and cooling load calculations.
• Support the modeling of mechanical and plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Help schedule mechanical equipment and compile project specifications.
• Review building codes and standards, including IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE.
• Collaborate with teams across offices and project locations.
• Attend site visits before and during construction with project leads.
• Gain exposure to the variety of project types and teams across the firm.
