Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our in-person team in Billings. You will gain hands-on experience performing engineering calculations, designing mechanical systems, and modeling in Revit and AutoCAD on real client projects.

You'll review codes such as IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE, participate in site visits, and help schedule equipment and compile specifications, gaining a clear picture of working in the AEC industry.

Qualifications

• Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program.
• Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
• Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering calculations and mechanical system design, including heating and cooling load calculations
• Support the modeling of mechanical and plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD
• Help schedule mechanical equipment and compile project specifications
• Review building codes and standards, including IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE
• Collaborate with teams across offices and project locations
• Attend site visits before and during construction with project leads
• Gain exposure to the variety of project types and teams across the firm
