Job summary

Electrical Engineering Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Electrical Engineering team on real client projects.

You will build a base foundation of electrical engineering principles and code requirements, gaining hands‑on experience with Cushing Terrell's collaborative design process across low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems.

Qualifications

  • Completion of 3+ years of an electrical engineering or related undergraduate program.
  • Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design of electrical systems, including low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution.
  • Build Revit and AutoCAD skills through hands-on electrical design work.
  • Learn and apply building codes and safety standards to project design.
  • Complete individually tailored training sessions on electrical systems design, lighting, and emerging technologies.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams across disciplines on active projects.
  • Attend site visits with project leads when opportunities allow.
  • Gain exposure to the variety of project types and teams across the firm.
