Cushing Terrell is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our team on real client projects, performing calculations and designing mechanical systems. You will model systems in Revit and AutoCAD, schedule equipment, and compile specifications.

The role offers hands-on experience and exposure to building codes and site visits. The internship emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, learning the IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE standards, and contributing to project teams at multiple locations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of a mechanical engineering undergrad program required.
• Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD.
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
• Strong problem-solving and adaptability.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering calculations and mechanical system design, including heating and cooling load calculations.
• Support the modeling of mechanical and plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Help schedule mechanical equipment and compile project specifications.
• Review building codes and standards (IMC, UPC, ASHRAE).
• Collaborate with teams across offices and project locations.
• Attend site visits before and during construction with project leads.
• Gain exposure to the variety of projects and teams across the firm.
