Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer II to perform mechanical testing and fixture design to support development, design, and failure analysis across multiple product applications in Tucson, AZ. This onsite role requires hands-on work and close collaboration with design, materials, and subject matter experts.

Qualifications

• Requires a university degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with Instron or MTS load frames.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on mechanical testing using laboratory techniques to evaluate material properties and design limitations.
• Develop test plans and set up configurations for hardware applications.
• Assess materials for compliance with specifications and standards.
• Evaluate parts to ensure alignment with structural analyses and design requirements.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and subject matter experts.
• Execute tasks with high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in testing, analysis and documentation.
