Job summary

Vertiv Structures seeks a hands-on Technical Trainer to develop, deliver, and uphold training across metal fabrication and modular manufacturing. The trainer will build OJT/SOJT materials, assess competency, and partner with operations and subject matter experts to align with current processes, safety, quality and production expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, structural steel, welding, machining, or related industrial environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing tools, processes, quality expectations, and safe work practices.
• Ability to learn technical processes and explain them clearly to others.
• Strong verbal, written, coaching, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation accuracy.
• Advanced computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom, hands-on, OJT/SOJT, and production-floor training for new and existing team members.
• Demonstrate manufacturing processes, tools, equipment, work instructions, and safe work methods.
• Coach employees during skill development and evaluate competency through observation and assessments.
• Support onboarding, cross-training, refresher training, upskilling, and new processes or equipment.
• Develop and maintain training materials, including presentations, work instructions, visual aids, assessments, and checklists.
• Identify skill gaps with supervisors and subject matter experts and set training priorities.
• Observe production to ensure training aligns with current practices and quality requirements.
• Maintain training records, rosters, assessments, and LMS completions.
• Support documentation, revision control, reporting, and audit readiness.
• Reinforce safety, 5S, standardized work, and continuous improvement during training.
