Kleen Test Products in Strasburg, OH is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer who thrives on the production floor and enjoys solving equipment problems from concept to production.

You'll work directly with maintenance, operators, vendors, and plant leadership to improve lines, install new equipment, and lead continuous improvement projects across the plant. This hands-on role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Engineering or technical degree or significant hands‑on manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience working directly with production machinery and automated manufacturing equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems on the plant floor
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting electrical/control systems, sensors, drives, PLC‑controlled equipment, or industrial automation
• Experience improving equipment performance, throughput, scrap, downtime, or labor efficiency
• The ability to take a problem from root‑cause analysis through implementation
• Experience coordinating equipment installations, vendors, contractors, or capital projects
• CAD experience, preferably AutoCAD
• Strong Excel and data‑analysis skills
• The ability to communicate and work effectively with operators, Maintenance, Production leadership, vendors, customers, and management

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and solve mechanical, electrical, controls, and production equipment problems
• Improve manufacturing equipment and processes to increase throughput, reduce scrap, improve reliability, and improve labor efficiency
• Develop practical equipment modifications and solutions for existing production lines
• Support new equipment installations, line startups, production trials, and commissioning
• Work side-by-side with Maintenance and Production to identify root causes and implement lasting fixes
• Analyze production data to find performance losses and improvement opportunities
• Develop equipment concepts, specifications, layouts, and project requirements
• Work with equipment manufacturers, integrators, contractors, and other vendors from concept through installation
• Assist with production line assembly, setup, and troubleshooting
• Train Maintenance and Production employees on new equipment and processes
• Provide technical support during customer trials and new product launches
• Lead continuous improvement projects throughout the plant
• Provide leadership support on the production floor when needed
