Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Entry-Level Group Leader to join the Manufacturing Group. You will support maintenance operations, troubleshoot, perform repairs, and maintain safety and quality while working under UAW agreements.

The role offers growth into expanded leadership and ongoing skill development within a fast-paced plant environment. You will help analyze daily plans, monitor equipment, and drive improvements with a focus on SPQRCE objectives across Safety, People, Quality,

Qualifications

• Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate clearly.
• High analytical ability to solve problems and improve processes.
• Basic computer proficiency (Word, email, etc.).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends to meet production demands.
• Must be 18 years or older and possess a HS diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and respond to the daily manufacturing plan and adjust operations as needed.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations.
• Perform checks and tests and communicate evaluation of results.
• Proactively propose solutions to operational or technical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain productivity and quality in line with standards.
• Collaborate with team to implement safety and housekeeping practices.
• Supervise use of labor, inventory, and machinery to optimize operations.
• Develop action plans to complete jobs and projects.
