Job summary

Kelly Services seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Northbrook, IL. This contract-to-permanent role focuses on supporting production operations and driving continuous improvement across processes and equipment on the manufacturing floor.

The ideal candidate will apply Lean/Six Sigma tools, lead root cause analysis, and coordinate upgrades while collaborating with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Product Development to accelerate transfers and improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience applying Lean/Six Sigma tools and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Hands-on engineering skills on production lines, equipment, tooling, and processes.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering support for production lines, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Lead continuous improvement and cost-reduction projects.
• Improve quality, throughput, cycle time, productivity, safety, and overall efficiency.
• Coordinate equipment upgrades, maintenance, and capacity improvements.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Product Development on manufacturing initiatives.
