Job Details
We’re seeking a Lean Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations while driving Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across our largest business division in PA. This role is approximately 80% Manufacturing Engineering and 20% Lean/CI, giving you the opportunity to improve manufacturing processes, optimize production, reduce waste, and implement practical solutions that deliver measurable results on the production floor.
Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing operations through process development, troubleshooting, and production improvements.
- Design and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, assembly processes, manufacturing cells, and plant layouts.
- Develop work instructions, manufacturing standards, and process documentation to improve consistency and quality.
- Partner with Production, Quality, and Materials to improve manufacturability, productivity, and operational performance.
- Lead Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives using tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimization, cost reduction, and waste elimination.
- Lead cross-functional improvement projects from concept through implementation while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related engineering discipline (equivalent experience considered).
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience leading or supporting Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and Standard Work.
- Experience improving manufacturing processes, productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Six Sigma certification, Manufacturing/Production Engineering experience, factory layout experience, or basic 2D CAD knowledge is a plus.
