Job summary

Oatey is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineering Intern in Shakopee, Minnesota, to support the Manufacturing Engineering team with automated equipment, wiring, machining, and CAD design. You will contribute to process improvements and gain hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an engineering degree or engineering technician program.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
• Interest in manufacturing process design, material flow, production equipment, work methods, and processes.
• Ability to work within a cross-functional, multicultural team.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize work efficiently.
• Process-oriented thinker.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication of automated equipment for improving production processes across Oatey product lines.
• Support Automation Engineers with wiring, machining, and assembling custom automation; gain exposure to PLC programming and controls.
• Manufacturing process analysis and evaluation for automation.
• Provide startup support for debugging and production.
• Design and document work cells and fixtures to support process improvements
